Burgess Falls


Burgess Falls State Park in Putnam and White County, Tennessee covers 350 acres of land situated around a steep gorge that the Falling Water River flows through and drops 250 feet in elevation in less than a mile culminating in the 136 foot Burgess Falls.

The falls were named after Tom Burgess, a Revolutionary War veteran who settled into the area in the 1810s. The land was turned into a Tennessee State Park in 1971.

TO VISIT:
Burgess Falls State Park is are accessible to the public, there is no entrance fee or permit required.
