On March 11, 2019, our local Cub Scout Pack which is part of the Middle Tennessee Council was visited by WKRN News 2’s Chief Meteorologist Danielle Breezy to talk to the Scouts about weather in the Nashville \ Middle Tennessee region.
Considering the focus on outdoor activities in Scouting, her visit was extremely relevant in that she was able to cover topics ranging from severe storms and tornado safety, to flash flooding, all in time for the spring Cub & Family and summer Cub Day \ Resident Camp season! She was even able to share stories from her time living in Boston where winter time conditions included storms that brought several feet of snow in a single day.
Mrs. Breezy was absolutely fantastic with the kids and not only provided an enthusiastic lesson, but also a chance to take photos with her and answer questions.
At the end of the meeting the Scouts got the opportunity to have their picture taken and posted on Mrs. Breezy’s Social Media accounts and have a video of their visit aired on that evenings newscast!
The visit was much appreciated by the Scouts, their families, and the Pack leaders, especially knowing that it required her to drive from Nashville in time for their meeting and then back to Nashville in time for the evening newscast!
